Macrophage angiotensin AT2 receptor activation is protective against early phases of LPS-induced acute kidney injury

Explore how macrophage angiotensin-II type-2 receptor (AT2R) stimulation offers protection against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute kidney injury (AKI). Adoptive transfer of AT2R-primed bone marrow-derived macrophages demonstrated anti-inflammatory effects, reducing inflammatory cytokine levels and elevating anti-inflammatory markers. This study unveils the potential for renoprotection during early stages of LPS-induced AKI through macrophage AT2R activation.
