MAD2 activates IGF1R/PI3K/AKT pathway and promotes cholangiocarcinoma progression

This study demonstrated that MAD2 sequestered USP44 in nuclei, impairing the formation of the USP44/LIMA1 complex and enhancing LIMA1 K48-linked ubiquitination. High MAD2 levels were associated with gemcitabine resistance in CCA patients, suggesting its potential as a prognostic indicator and guide for chemotherapy.
