A study suggested that patients with reduced kidney function face disparities in the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). The study found that individuals with lower estimated glomerular filtration rates (eGFR) were less likely to receive invasive management during non-ST segment elevation MI (NSTEMI) hospitalization. Moreover, a clear link between lower eGFR and higher mortality rates was established for all patients, both in-hospital and post-discharge.
