Iron deficiency anaemia (IDA) poses significant challenges, especially during pregnancy, prompting a study to assess current management gaps and treatment limitations. A survey among Indian gynecologists revealed dissatisfaction with conventional oral iron therapy, with 82% reporting challenges. 86% sought alternative oral iron salts, and 70% favored novel prescriptions. Ferric maltol emerged as a promising solution, demonstrating efficacy and tolerability across various clinical conditions. It offers a convenient and well-tolerated option for long-term IDA management, addressing the need for effective treatments in maternal and fetal health.
