MASLD Increases Heart Failure Risk

Patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) had a significantly higher risk of heart failure (HF), especially HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). In a study of 26,676 patients, MASLD was linked to a 2.52-fold increase in HF risk after adjustments. Risks escalated with more cardiometabolic factors, emphasizing the connection between MASLD and HF-related outcomes. Findings underscore the importance of monitoring HF in MASLD patients for improved outcomes.
