This study analyzes over 2.8 million high-quality SARS-CoV-2 genomes, identifying 296,728 new mutations. The study proposes that certain base combinations exhibit lower mutation frequencies, like AT in an AM or TA motif. Translation efficiency may affect modifications in the third position of codons, with a preference for AT3 codons. Additionally, host-specific asymmetric dinucleotide mutation frequencies were observed.
