The study of 261 patients found that mastery is impaired, particularly in men with mild symptoms. Mastery is positively linked to interoception and inversely associated with distress, anxiety, and depression. However, no significant mediation between mastery and medical adherence was found. These findings emphasize the need for future research on enhancing mastery to improve treatment adherence and quality of life.
