The study explored the relationship between maternal and cord serum levels of angiogenic factors sFlt-1 and PlGF, and their ratio, in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The results showed no significant differences in maternal serum levels between the GDM and control groups, but lower cord serum PlGF and sFlt-1 levels were observed in the GDM group. These findings suggest that while these factors are not key biomarkers, they may reflect fetal hypoxia and placental angiogenesis in GDM.
