
In a meta-analysis of 45 studies involving 5586 subjects, the study explored the prognostic differences in sepsis caused by gram-negative (G (−)) and gram-positive (G (+)) bacteria. While survival rates showed no significant difference, severe sepsis incidence and inflammatory factor concentrations (CRP, PCT, TNF-α) were higher in G (−) bacterial infections. No significant variations were observed in coagulation function, hospital stay, or other parameters. The study provides insights into the distinct pathogenic mechanisms of gram-negative and gram-positive bacterial sepsis.
