Researchers used the Seahorse Flux analyzer (SFA) to find easily accessible metabolic details of human sperm, which provides real-time analysis with minimal cells. They obtained standard records of human sperm cells' oxidative and glycolytic metabolism through OCR and ECAR measurements, revealing interindividual metabolic variations. Although further studies are needed to compare with other species and cell types, the metabolic profile of human sperm cells appears similar. These findings support the potential of SFA for analyzing human sperm cells and its applications in male infertility research.
