The study's objective was to investigate the impact of weight-loss surgery on the risk for dental interventions. The results showed that the surgical cohort had increased interventional rates postoperatively regarding all studied outcomes except periodontal interventions. The difference between the groups increased markedly in the postoperative period, and the surgical intervention was found to cause a substantial negative impact on oral health. The study highlights the need for counselling metabolic surgery patients regarding preventive oral health measures.
