Network analysis of 168 metabolites identifies key biomarkers for T2DM risk. Using UK Biobank data from 98,831 participants, researchers linked 114 metabolites to T2DM over 12 years. Triglycerides and large HDL cholesterol emerged as central risk and protective biomarkers. Branched-chain amino acids flagged early risk, especially in prediabetes, and GlycA signaled female-specific risk. This metabolomic network offers precision insights for early detection and intervention in T2DM.
