The role of microglia has been increasingly recognized as important in disease. No more so than in the retina, where neurodegeneration in diseases such as glaucoma, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease and Alzheimer's disease can be seen. In this article, establishing ways of assessing microglia in disease states will be discussed, as how their morphology can be used in characterizing activity.

Myocardial changes were also observed, including in larger co-twins, but did not significantly distinguish types after correction, suggesting a potential research phenotype.

A UK Biobank analysis of about 411,000 participants compared the Edmonton Obesity Staging System with the Lancet Commission Diagnostic Model for Obesity.
