MicroRNA Signatures Distinguish Alzheimer’s, MCI, and Cognitive Resilience

MicroRNAs offer insights into Alzheimer’s progression and cognitive resilience. A post-mortem study of posterior cingulate cortex samples from Rush Religious Orders Study participants revealed distinct miRNA patterns in Alzheimer’s, mild cognitive impairment, and resilient individuals. Bioinformatics analysis linked miRNAs to cognitive function, neuropathological burden, and AD risk, highlighting pathways like insulin and neurite plasticity. These findings suggest miRNAs as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in Alzheimer’s disease.
