A new study suggests that the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine may be influenced by the time of day it is administered. The study analyzed data from over 1.5 million people who received the Pfizer mRNA vaccine in Israel and found that the vaccine's effectiveness was highest when administered during the midday hours (10 am to 2 pm). The researchers suggest that the body's circadian rhythm may impact the body's response to the vaccine. They note that the correlation was strongest in children, teenagers, and adults over age 50 and that the findings may be necessary for mass vaccination campaigns, particularly for prioritizing vaccination times for specific groups. However, more research is needed to confirm this pattern for other vaccines.
