Minimal Residual Disease Status Predicts Outcome in Patients With Previously Untreated Follicular Lymphoma

The study analyzes minimal residual/detectable disease (MRD) as a predictor of outcomes in follicular lymphoma patients from the GALLIUM trial. MRD positivity correlates with inferior progression-free survival, and G-chemotherapy shows higher MRD response rates compared to R-chemotherapy. Late responders have poorer outcomes than early responders. Bendamustine induces the lowest MRD positivity. G-chemotherapy compensates for less effective regimens. MRD negativity is crucial for long-term disease control, and higher MRD responses after G-based treatment suggest more effective tumor cell clearance.
