Minimum 10-Year Clinical Outcomes and Survivorship of Meniscal Allograft Transplantation With Fresh-Frozen Allografts Using the Bridge-in-Slot Technique

In a 10-year study, meniscal allograft transplantation (MAT) using fresh-frozen allografts and the bridge-in-slot technique showed positive outcomes. Of the 174 patients analyzed, predominantly female and with a mean age of 28.3, significant improvements were observed in patient-reported outcomes. Around 37% underwent meniscal reoperation after about 6.6 years, while 23% met failure criteria at approximately 7.3 years post-MAT. Despite these figures, MAT survival rates free of reoperation and failure were 73% and 85% at 10 years and 60% and 72% at 15 years. Ultimately, 86% of patients reported satisfaction with their postoperative condition.
