The study explored miR-486-3p expression levels as a potential early biomarker for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Analysis of 103 GDM and 98 healthy subjects showed that miR-486-3p was significantly downregulated in GDM patients. ROC analysis confirmed its predictive value, and its levels correlated with HbA1c, FBG, HOMA-IR, and leptin. Findings suggest miR-486-3p as a novel early predictor of GDM and its related pregnancy risks.
