
In a study involving 81 patients with advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), researchers examined the potential of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) measurements for predicting clinical outcomes and monitoring treatment response. They collected serial plasma samples and used KRAS peptide nucleic acid clamp-PCR to measure ctDNA levels. The results showed that ctDNA measurements at baseline could predict clinical outcome, and serial measurements of ctDNA were effective in monitoring treatment response. This study highlights the importance of ctDNA in guiding treatment selection and follow-up for patients with advanced PDAC.
