Multidisciplinary treatment (MDT) perspectives in renal cell carcinoma

In 2023, kidney cancers are expected to affect around 81,800 patients, resulting in an estimated 14,890 deaths. Treatment for renal cell carcinoma (RCC) has improved, but metastatic RCC still has a poor prognosis. The ASCO GU Cancers Symposium discussed various aspects of RCC treatment, including active surveillance, oligometastatic RCC treatment, consolidation treatment, and second-line systemic therapy. The treatment of mRCC encompasses a wide variety of experts in different disciplines requiring true multidisciplinary care.
