The MOSAIC study evaluates the effectiveness of 0.01% atropine eye drops in managing myopia progression in a primarily White European population aged 6-16. Over 80% of participants completed the 24-month study, with similar characteristics across treatment and control groups. Results showed no significant difference in spherical equivalent change but a lower axial length growth in the atropine group. Notably, treatment effects were more pronounced in White individuals and those less affected by COVID-19 restrictions. Overall, atropine 0.01% proved safe and effective, with variations based on ethnicity, eye color, and pandemic impact.
