Narrow Band Imaging Fails to Improve Recurrence Detection in HNSCC

A randomized controlled trial in 257 patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) found no significant difference in recurrence detection rates between white light (WL) and narrow band imaging (NBI) during laryngoscopy after radiotherapy. Survival outcomes were also similar, indicating that NBI does not enhance early detection or clinical outcomes in HNSCC patients post-treatment.
