This case-control study in Iranian adults explores the association between colorectal cancer (CRC) and the nutrient density of diets measured by the naturally nutrient-rich (NNR) score. The study involves 160 CRC patients and 320 controls aged 35–70 years in Tehran. Results show that CRC risk is inversely associated with the NNR score, suggesting that low NNR scores may be linked to CRC. The findings imply that recommending nutrient-rich diets could potentially help prevent colorectal cancer.
