Neoadjuvant Therapy Improves BCR-Free Survival in High-Risk Prostate Cancer

Neoadjuvant therapy combining GnRH antagonist and low-dose estramustine phosphate (EMP) improved biochemical recurrence-free survival (BCR-FS) in high- and very high-risk prostate cancer patients. The 3- and 5-year BCR-FS rates were significantly better in the exposure group (82.1% and 74.6%) compared to the control group (70.8% and 64.4%) (HR: 0.55). This therapy improved outcomes for very high-risk patients more than hormone therapy alone.
