VZV, belonging to the herpesvirus family, spreads via respiratory secretions and poses more significant risks in adults, including fatalities. Symptoms include an itchy rash, fever, and potential complications like pneumonia and encephalitis. Vaccination and hygiene practices are recommended preventive measures.
