In a multi-center quality improvement study spanning 2011-2021, a novel metric—a ratio of preoperative Lund-Mackay score to sinuses operated on—was proposed for assessing endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) outcomes in chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients. Among 828 participants, the mean ratio was 1.61, with significant variations noted between primary and revision surgeries (2.00 vs 1.98) and CRS subtypes (1.78 for CRSsNP vs 2.26 for CRSwNP). This tool provides clinicians a practical way to reflect on surgical outcomes, refine practices, and enhance care delivery in CRS management.
