Grading PRNN saves lives. In 82 patients with postradiation nasopharyngeal necrosis (PRNN), researchers defined four severity grades to guide treatment via transnasal endoscopic skull base surgery (TESS). Headache relief and improved survival were observed, especially among those who underwent surgery—only 18 of 75 operated patients died vs. 6 of 7 in the unoperated group. This classification system offers crucial guidance for managing this life-threatening complication.
