The study introduced a groundbreaking quality metric tool to enhance self-assessment in endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) patients. Analyzing 828 patients from seven North American centers (2011-2021), it utilized a ratio of preoperative Lund-Mackay scores to operated sinus regions. Significant differences emerged between patients with and without nasal polyposis. This innovative tool empowers clinicians to refine their techniques and improve patient care through retrospective evaluation.
