A retrospective observational study assessed the relationship between triglyceride-glucose (TYG) index scores and clinical outcomes in 95 ischemic stroke patients at Dr. Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences. Results indicated mean total cholesterol of 165.01 mg/dL, triglycerides at 157.03 mg/dL, HDL-c at 37.25 mg/dL, LDL-c at 107 mg/dL, and fasting blood sugar at 153.74 mg/dL. Significant associations were observed between TYG index and fasting blood sugar, triglycerides, and total cholesterol; however, no correlation with clinical outcomes, such as recurrence and all-cause mortality, was found. Thus, the study concluded that TYG index may not be a relevant predictor of adverse outcomes in ischemic stroke patients.
