The study explored the efficacy and safety of multiwavelength Photobiomodulation (PBM) in early-stage Diabetic Macular Edema (DME) patients. Using the Valeda® Light Delivery System, subjects received nine PBM sessions over 3–4 weeks. Following PBM, reductions in central retinal thickness, resolution of intraretinal fluid, and improved diabetic retinopathy severity scale scores were observed. Baseline best-corrected visual acuity remained stable over a 3-month follow-up, and 64% of patients reported subjective improvements in ocular condition. Detailed evaluations revealed no safety concerns related to phototoxicity up to 16 months. The results suggest that multiwavelength PBM may offer a promising alternative for early-stage DME treatment.
