
Myocardial lipomatous metaplasia (LM), found more often in post-myocardial infarction patients, is detected using noninvasive methods like cardiac MRI and contrast-enhanced CT. These methods help understand heart mechanics, arrhythmia risk, and prognosis. This review outlines the pros and cons of different MRI and CT techniques for LM detection, summarizes LM prevalence in various post-infarct patient groups, and discusses cardiac imaging's role in studying LM as an arrhythmia-causing factor post-heart attack.
