A study found that the peak amplitude of infraslow oscillations in sleep spindle activity was significantly reduced in people with Alzheimer’s disease, while frequency and bandwidth remained preserved. ICS–SABA reduced asthma exacerbations and corticosteroid use without increasing adverse events in a five-RCT meta-analysis.

A meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials found that as-needed ICS–SABA significantly reduced asthma exacerbations compared with SABA-only reliever therapy. ICS–SABA lowered exacerbation rates and the risk of experiencing at least one exacerbation by 31%, while extending time to first exacerbation and reducing systemic corticosteroid exposure by about 39 mg, without increasing adverse events.
