Obesity Increases Pregnancy Redating Frequency in Early Ultrasound

Obese women, particularly class III obese, experience higher pregnancy redating rates than non-obese women. The study found a 2% increased risk of redating per BMI unit over 30 kg/m². Pregnancy redating occurred in 22% of non-obese, 27.3% of obese, and 31.2% of class III obese women. Accurate pregnancy dating helps avoid false diagnoses of fetal growth issues.
