The survey collected data from individuals with obesity in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, and the UK to understand their health and weight management efforts. Of 1850 participants, 26.3% reported having three or more obesity-related complications (ORCs), such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, and type 2 diabetes. Higher obesity classes were associated with a higher likelihood of multiple ORCs. Furthermore, multiple ORCs were linked to increased healthcare resource utilization, including hospitalizations. Although 78.6% of participants attempted to lose weight, 73.4% did not achieve clinically meaningful weight loss of at least 5%. This indicates a need for improved weight management support in Europe for individuals with obesity.
