The OPTIVUS-Complex PCI study examined outcomes post intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in multivessel disease patients, comparing those with and without diabetes. Among 1021 patients, 54.8% had diabetes. Despite differences in comorbidities and coronary disease complexity, diabetic patients showed similar rates of meeting OPTIVUS criteria and 1-year composite endpoint incidence compared to non-diabetic counterparts. Adjusted analysis confirmed diabetes insignificance regarding the primary endpoint. Results indicate comparable 1-year outcomes following multivessel IVUS-guided PCI in patients with and without diabetes, highlighting contemporary clinical practice efficacy.
