A recent study compared the effects of general nutrition counseling (GCN) and portioned meal boxes (PMB) on glycemic control in type 2 diabetes. Over 12 weeks, participants in both groups saw reduced HbA1c levels, with PMB leading to significant improvement when used at least four times a week. Both methods also influenced body composition, with weight and body fat reduction. Participants reported increased satisfaction with PMB and consumed less energy, carbohydrates, and fat compared to GCN. The study suggests that utilizing portioned meal boxes could be a practical and preferred approach for improving dietary compliance and blood glucose control in type 2 diabetes.
