Mumbai-based TechInvention Lifecare and South Korean company Eubiologics have launched "Euvichol-Plus," the world's first oral cholera vaccine in India. It comes in a safe and convenient LDPE Unidos pack, addressing issues with glass vials. Cholera poses a global health threat, and Euvichol-Plus is the only consistently supplied WHO-prequalified vaccine. India, a cholera-endemic country, has a high incidence rate, making this vaccine crucial. TechInvention plans to ensure a steady supply despite global shortages. Eubiologics has already provided 110 million doses of Euvichol-Plus in 32 countries. TechInvention aims to contribute to national and global efforts to combat cholera. The vaccine is safe, immunogenic, and suitable for individuals aged one year and above. Clinical trials demonstrated its efficacy and safety, receiving support from the ICMR-National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases. The company is discussing an affordable price with the government and private procurement bodies. Eubiologics aims to positively impact Indian children's lives and reduce disease prevalence through increased vaccine coverage.
