A study has found that there is a strong link between children's oral health and their parents' quality of life. The study involved over 300 children with severe early childhood caries (S-ECC) and their parents, found that parents who reported poorer oral health for their children also reported poorer oral health for themselves. The study also found that the severity of a child's S-ECC and their history of dental pain were both associated with their oral health-related quality of life. These findings suggest that policymakers and clinical practitioners should focus on improving both children's and their parents' oral health.
