Outcomes at one year in women with peripartum cardiomyopathy

This study examined women with peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM), indicating an 8.4% mortality rate within a year, with significant regional disparities (4.9% in Europe, 18.9% in the Middle East). Thromboembolism and stroke rates were 6.3% and 2.5%, respectively, consistent across regions. Re-hospitalization affected 14.0% of patients, with 3.5% experiencing multiple readmissions. Notably, 66.1% of women saw some recovery in left ventricular function, showing regional variations. These findings underscore the global impact of PPCM, calling for heightened awareness and intervention.
