In a retrospective study examining microvascular free tissue transfer (MVFTT) for advanced cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) in solid organ transplant (SOT) patients, outcomes were compared with a matched non-SOT cohort. While complication rates, including major surgical complications, were similar between groups, SOT patients experienced worse overall survival (21.7 vs. 31.0 months, p = 0.04). However, the study highlights the feasibility of aggressive surgical interventions with MVFTT in SOT patients, showcasing comparable complication rates to those without a history of transplantation, providing valuable insights for managing advanced cSCC in this complex patient population.
