A study has raised concerns about popular weight loss drugs like Wegovy and Ozempic, which belong to the GLP-1 receptor agonist class. The study found that these drugs could elevate the risk of stomach paralysis (gastroparesis), pancreatitis, and bowel obstruction. The study, examining 16 million U.S. patients over 14 years, revealed a significant increase in these risks compared to other weight loss medications. While complications are rare, the widespread use of these drugs necessitates updated warning labels.
