The study explores parental stress, caregiving practices, and child development outcomes in sub-Saharan Africa. Data from Kenya and Zambia indicate that caregiver stimulation positively influences developmental outcomes in children. However, the relationship between parental stress and stimulation practices, as well as child outcomes, varies. Improved caregiver stimulation practices can enhance child development, emphasizing the need to address predictors of parental stress, such as childcare costs, to enhance parenting practices. This highlights policy implications for supporting parents in fostering a positive environment for children's development.
