This study investigated the one-year survival rates of heart failure (HF) patients based on their cancer status, specifically breast, gastrointestinal, or lung cancer. The research included 193,359 patients with HF from 2000 to 2018 in Denmark. Patients were categorized into history of cancer, non-active cancer, and active cancer. One-year all-cause mortality rates were reported. Patients with a history of cancer and non-active cancer had comparable mortality rates regardless of cancer type, while active cancer patients had varied and higher mortality rates. Age's prognostic impact was limited for active lung cancer. Accurate cancer stratification is crucial for managing new-onset HF effectively.
