Patient Perspectives on Social Risk Screening and Documentation in a Dermatology Clinic

Incorporating social risk factors into dermatologic care is crucial for better patient management. A study aimed to understand patients' perspectives on social risk screening and documentation in a dermatology clinic. The mixed-methods research involved surveys and interviews at an urban public hospital's dermatology clinic. Results showed that 85.9% found social risk screening appropriate, but only 63.0% were comfortable with electronic health record documentation. Trust and privacy played a significant role in the willingness to disclose social risks.
