PCC improved hemostatic effectiveness (77.9% vs. 60.4%), reduced transfusion needs, and lowered serious adverse event rates, including acute kidney injury (10.3% vs. 18.8%). These findings suggest PCC as a safer, more effective alternative for coagulation factor replacement in cardiac surgery.

Current care emphasizes diagnosis, limited targeted testing, disease monitoring and stepwise treatment, beginning with second-generation H1-antihistamines and up-dosing when needed. Omalizumab and newer therapies such as dupilumab and remibrutinib expand options for refractory disease, while future care may be guided by biomarkers and disease endotypes.

PULMONOLOGY

ICS–SABA reduced asthma exacerbations and corticosteroid use without increasing adverse events in a five-RCT meta-analysis.

A meta-analysis of five randomized controlled trials found that as-needed ICS–SABA significantly reduced asthma exacerbations compared with SABA-only reliever therapy.
