The study found that adding pembrolizumab to neoadjuvant chemotherapy improved the objective response rate (ORR) in patients with locally advanced hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LA-HPSCC), with an ORR of 66.0% compared to 47.6% without pembrolizumab. A nomogram based on pretreatment blood parameters, including lymphocytes and red blood cells, accurately predicted treatment response. This nomogram demonstrated high predictive accuracy, offering precise treatment strategies and optimizing medical resource use.
