This retrospective study examined the association between detecting a perforated cavum septi pellucidi (CSP) on fetal brain imaging before or after open neural tube defect (ONTD) repair and the need for hydrocephalus treatment in infants by the age of 1 year. Findings suggest that a perforated CSP is associated with an increased risk of requiring hydrocephalus treatment, aiding in patient counselling for fetal ONTD surgery.
