The purpose of the study was to study the association between retinal parameters and motor and cognitive outcomes in children born very preterm. The associations between higher average PRNFL thickness and better motor performance as well as higher macular GCL volume and better cognitive performance refer to more generalized changes in the brain of 11‐year‐old children born very preterm. Retinal OCT examinations might provide a deeper insight than mere eyesight in long‐term neurodevelopmental follow‐up of children born very preterm.
