Physical therapy intervention for breast symptoms in lactating women: a randomized controlled trial

A recent single-blind, randomized controlled trial investigated the impact of therapeutic ultrasound, education, and massage on breast symptoms in postpartum lactating women aged 21 to 45. The study assigned three groups (ultrasound, sham, and usual care), with assessments at baseline, post-intervention, and three months later. The ultrasound group exhibited significant improvements in breast symptoms and engorgement at baseline and sustained three months later. Findings suggest the potential benefit of physical therapy interventions, emphasizing the need for larger randomized controlled trials to validate these results.
