
Interviews with 20 physicians revealed mixed perceptions of smoking’s impact on RA. Most favored cessation-drug therapy over nicotine replacement. Support strategies included Quitline, peer support, and education. Barriers included time constraints, lack of training, and financial motivation. Addressing these challenges through physician training could enhance cessation support for RA patients.
